What is Canasta?
Canasta is a card game in the rummy family, often played in partnerships. Players combine cards of the same rank into groups called melds, working toward a canasta: a meld of seven or more cards.
Planning your first Canasta visit
Can beginners take Canasta lessons?
Yes. Private beginner classes can be arranged for individuals and groups. The four-week series pairs one table with one teacher. See beginner Canasta lessons and contact Tara for class arrangements and current dates.
When can I play Canasta?
Open play runs Monday through Thursday, 1–4 pm, with buffet lunch starting at 12:15 pm. Reservations are required.
Do I need to bring a full table?
You can bring a full table or ask Fran to help put one together. Contact Fran before your visit to arrange your playing session.
